For most families, back-to-school season means shopping for supplies, choosing a backpack, and preparing for a new year of learning and growth. For families facing childhood cancer, it's often much more complicated. Parents are balancing treatment schedules, hospital visits, and the financial impact of a diagnosis. The cost of school supplies, backpacks, clothing, and other essentials can quickly become overwhelming.

That's why NC4K's Back-to-School Program exists. Each year, we help childhood cancer Heroes and their siblings begin the school year with confidence by providing backpacks, school supplies, family resources, and a fun community event designed just for them. Last year, 238 students from 83 NC4K families received back-to-school support. Nearly one-third of participating families were actively receiving cancer treatment, and many were navigating one of the most difficult seasons of their lives.
